Mandela Day at Saatchi & Saatchi 20 Aug 2014

Today, in loving memory of a spectacular man, the Saatchi & Saatchi team decided to do something a little bit different.

In honour of our first Mandela Day since Madiba’s passing, we wanted to honour the country’s silent heroes. The ones who make sure that we are all safe and protected, the ones we can turn to whenever something terrible happens, and the ones who guide us through any traumas we may face – so we went straight to the Buitenkant Police Station.

Truth be told, we don’t often hear heart-warming tales about the Police. But what about the do-gooders? What about the service men and women who really do spend their days making sure that our communities are well looked after?

We took a collection amongst ourselves and raised enough money to buy some treats for everyone at the Police Station. The hot chocolate, marshmallows and rusks are sure to warm their hearts and keep them feeling toasty during this harsh Cape Tonian winter.

We salute you, SAPS. Thank you for doing your best to keep us all out of harm’s way.
