A former fashion design student at FEDISA, Michelle now works her creative magic as part of our social media and content team. Here’s more about this Paarl-born lady…
What was your first job?
Waitressing at Fairview, but thinking about it now technically my first job was a modelling gig on a beach when I was a toddler. I think it was the only time I have ever worn that much pink. Either that or babysitting from age 4 – I’ve always been very responsible, even as a young child.
What is your dream job?
Senior Copywriter or Creative Director
What’s playing in your car at the moment?
Melanie Martinez, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Black Lips, Sol Gems and Hello Beautiful.
Your best beauty secret?
Meditate and do a soul spring clean as often as need be. When you feel good on the inside you look good on the outside.
Any hidden talents?
I can do the splits – I danced for most of my childhood and muscle memory is a real thing.
Number 1 on your bucketlist?
Standing up on a surfboard so I can surf Indo or at least sit on the backline.
Is it about winning, losing or how you play the game?
I believe it’s all about how you play the game – the journey is more important than the destination.
What are your pet hates?
People who refuse to grow and evolve in order to become a better version of themselves. If you aren’t growing then you’re stagnating and if you’re stagnating you’re going backwards.
Your life would be meaningless without…
The love of animals (particularly my cat Toby), good friends and the ocean.
Favourite person you follow on Twitter and Instagram?
I don’t really have favourite on Twitter, but on Instagram my favourites are @Momowelch, @daddyissues and @pindippy.
What hashtag would best describe your life?
#NoFilter – I prefer being genuine.
What’s your life motto?
Progress not perfection.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned since starting at Saatchi & Saatchi Synergize?
It’s not weak to lean on your teammates, if anything it makes you stronger.
What are your lovemarks?
Converse, Jeffery Campbell & Apple.
